How I Wrote My First Book

I was in a bookstore one day and I saw this book called The Book You Were Born to Write. It was written by Kelly Notaris. The title really got me because it was something I felt. I had had inside of me for a long time the book I was born to write. After reading a few chapters, she recommended that people who are interested in reading the book should form a meet up group around the book. Well, I took her recommendation to heart and I advertised a meet up group to meet at Panera’s on Saturday at 12. I was very excited about it. Unfortunately, nobody showed up, so I put the book away and didn’t think about it for two years. Then one day I was browsing the Internet and I found the page having to do with a Book Boot Camp Put on by the Hay House and there was Kelly Notaris talking about Hey House, a very well known publisher who gave you an opportunity to join the writers group. And have a chance to submit your manuscript to Hay House and potentially win $10,000 publishing contract and be published by Hay House.  It was during this time that I read the book The Secret and was introduced through the book to an author by the name of Wayne Dyer. I found his books fascinating. Also read a book on agoraphobia, a mental disorder that I had suffered with for 40 years. I had long been interested in whether they had. Profound a cure for anxiety and I thought it would be a great idea to see if Christianity held any relief for people like me. I joined a Bible study group sponsored by the Lifepoint Church and at the same time started to meditate with the app called Insight Timer. Which is the best meditation app out there? Including Calm, which is a commercialized meditation app if ever there was 1. Anyhow, all these factors converge together, including getting my Master of Social Work with the focus of mental health and working as a counselor at a mental health clinic in Baltimore two years prior to becoming. Curious if there was a way to cure anxiety using biblical truths and metaphysical practices. I looked into this and found no books linking those things together. I then voraciously read everything I could on visualization, meditation, and manifestation. During my time as a Hay House Writers Club member, I read more and more about how people wrote memoirs of their life. I had some pretty horrific traumas in my childhood, and I began to write about them and to be honest, I went into a sort of a daze and began writing a prescription for curing anxiety and interspersing that with the traumatic events in my life. Before I knew it, I was 80 pages deep in the story of my life and a book I titled A Cure for Anxiety, Biblical Truths and Metaphysical Practices to Come Overcome Anxiety, Panic, Social Anxiety, and Agoraphobia.
